Abstract: Pd K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy (XANES) probes different molecular orbitals and consequently the charge distribution in a series of bidentate diphosphine ligands (PP) Pd coordinating moieties (XX) complexes. A full interpretation of the Pd K-edge XANES data is presented.
