Abstract: Caregivers undergo mental and emotional agony as they look after the elderly persons. Communication plays an important role in between the caregiver and the seriously ill older person. Inability to communicate on the part of the seriously ill patient and inability to comprehend on the part of caregivers is examined and its effect on the caregivers' burden is analyzed.
