Phase transition in ultrathin magnetic dots

The magnetization of in-plane magnetized ultra-thin magnetic dots of Co on Cu(100) as a function of temperature and applied field is measured by scanning Kerr microscopy. At the lateral lengths, the transition proceeds in a similar way as in extended films.
