Three- and four-center trans effects in triply bonded ditungsten complexes: an ab initio molecular dynamics study of compounds with stoichiometry W2Cl4

Dynamic density functional calculations are performed on the three isomeric title compounds. The finite temperature properties are dominated by the facile dissociation of the phosphine ligands, an effect that can be related to the presence of three- and four-center trans effects.
