Mutation of CEBPA in familial acute myeloid leukemia

Case of a family in which multiple members are affected by acute myeloid leukemia (AML) associated with an identical, 212delC mutation in CEBPA is presented. Three large studies of uniformly treated patients indicate that mutation of CEBPA such as 212delC is an independent favorable prognostic factor and appear to carry an even better prognosis than bZIP mutations.
