Six days in New York: lots of reporters but not much happened at Democratic Convention

More journalists than ever attended the 1992 Democratic National Convention, but network television coverage was scaled back and much newspaper coverage focused on events peripheral to the convention. The major networks gave the convention only an hour to an hour-and-a-half of prime time coverage per night. Antiabortion protests, AIDS demonstrations and other events were given significant coverage by newspapers.
