Abstract

The effect of within-gridcell spatial variability on the spatial assessment of the economic feasibility of short rotation coppice (SRC) production and energy conversion in areas contaminated by Chernobyl accident was evaluated by using Monte Carlo analysis. The results show that when the additional variability that is not contained in the input maps is considered, the SRC production and energy conversion appears to be profitable at more locations than when this variability is not considered.
