New entries in Lewis acid-Lewis base bifunctional asymmetric catalyst: Catalytic enantioselective Reissert reaction of pyridine derivatives

The first catalytic enantioselective Reissert reaction of pyridine derivatives is described, which significantly expands the utility of this strategy in chiral piperidine synthesis. The synthesis was achieved by development of Lewis acid-Lewis base bifunctional asymmetric catalyst.
