Abstract: The prototypical photoreaction H(sub ad)+H( ad)->H(sub 2.gas) on Ru-(001) initiated by intense near-infrared femtosecond laser excitation is investigated. Detailed results on the influence and coverage dependence of the fs laser-induced hydrogen formation are presented.
