Photophysical properties of silver(I)-exchanged zeolite A and the photoassisted degradation of Malathion

Abstract: The spectroscopy study of the different colored silver A zeolites showing the presence of Ag(sub n)(super m)(super +) oligomers in the A-type zeolite are highlighted. The result reveals that the large size of Malathion prevents its entrapment in the zeolite channels; therefore, the photodecomposition process and the catalytic silver clusters must occur on the silver A surface.
