A hydrocyclation-triggered carbon-carbon triple bond cleavage in alkynes via retro-mannich type fragmentation

In the study of chelation-assisted activation, C-H and C-C bonds in organic molecules, it was found that the reaction of alkynes and allylamines resulted in the cleavage of C-C triple bond through an alpha,beta-unsaturated ketimine intermediate. This was applied to the ring opening oligomerization of cycloalkynes.
