Abstract
- Haloacid dehalogenase (HAD) superfamily mainly consists of structurally homologous enzymes, which have several conserved sequence motifs in their active site. HAD can be divided into three sub-classes, based on the domain organization. Studies and observations showing that the target of magnesium dependent phosphate-1 (MDP-1) is a phosphotyrosine in an unknown protein and not a sugar based substrate are explained.
