Linewidth enhancement factor of a type-l quantum-cascade laser

Lorentzian-like gain spectra of type-I quantum-cascade laser is extracted using the Hakki-Paoli method. The results show that the linewidth enhancement factor, which plays an important role in the linewidth of semi-conductor lasers, is approximately -0.5 at a lasing wavelength of 8.22 Mum.
