Abstract

New complexes between the different protonated forms of the hexaazamacrocyclic ligand Bn and six phosphate and nucleotide anion types of substrates (S) are determined using potentiometric equilibrium methods. The strength of bonding in the ternary complexes, H:Bn:S, is rationalized in terms of both hydrogen bonding and Coulombic interactions.
