Abstract

Developments of the aspartic peptidase since 1990 are presented, which include the isolation, cloning and expression of a large number of new members of this family, crystal structures, insights into mechanism and studies of inhibitors of this class. Peptidases play an important role in the life cycle of parasites of man and other animals.
