Abstract

The magneto-optic spatial light modulator (MOSLM) driven by an electric field, achieved by using the electrostrictive effect of [Pb(Zr(sub 0.52)Ti(sub 0.48))O3] (PZT) thin films, is described. The MOSLM overcomes the thermal problems of the conductors that occur in the current-addressed driving method, and provides high frame rates because of the high speed of the PZT thin film, and higher resolution due to a simpler conductor structure.
