Abstract

The duplex and triplex stabilization using ologonucleotides containing 2'-deoxyuridines, modified at the 5-position by linkers ending with either two or one guanidinium groups is reported. One or two modified 2'-deoxyuridines, either two [dU(super BA)] or one [dU(super PG)] guanidinium groups, are incorporated into pyrimidine strands and their influence on the stability of the duplex and triplex structures are studied.
