Abstract: The synthesis of base-free (C5R5)(sub 2)Zr((O(super t)Bu)(super +)) cations is reported. The observation of nonchelated alkene and alkyne adducts of the cations, and studies of the thermodynamic and dynamic properties of the novel species are done.
