Abstract

The nematic liquid-crystal direction-orientations in the vicinity of the interface between a liquid-crystal layer and a glass substrate is evaluated in various orientations under an applied electric field, using shear horizontal (SH) wave propagation. This was done in relation to acoustic phase delay change in the cell structures.
