Abstract: The enzyme isopentenylpyrophosphate-dimethylallylpyrophosphate isomerase catalyzes the of isopentenyl pyrophospate to form dimethylallyl pyrophosphate, which is used in protein prenylation and in cholesterol and ergosterol biosynthesis. The structure of the enzyme is determined because the enzyme is a potential drug target.
