Abstract: The kinetics and mechanism of the reaction of a superoxochromium(III) ion with nitrogen monoxide is detailed. The kinetics of the rapid reaction between Cr(sub aq)OO(super +2) and NO are determined by laser flash photolysis of CrNO(sub aq)(super +2) in oxide saturated acidic aqueous solutions.
