Abstract

Proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) kinetics of a zinc (II) porphyrin donor noncovalently bound to a naphthalene-diimide acceptor through an amidinium-carboxylate interface is investigated. The conclusion states that the importance of a proton network in controlling ET rates is becomiing more apparent as the strauctural details of the biological systems are revealed.
