Aspirin for cardiovascular disease prevention

A study shows that antiplatelet therapy, mainly with aspirin is effective in reducing the risk of non-fatal myocardial infarction, non-fatal stroke or vascular death among patients with established arterial disease. The definite and possible indications for aspirin prophylaxis based on the clinical trial evidence, when used for secondary prevention, primary prevention and in heart disease are discussed.
