Abstract: The linear theory of using piezoelectricity with quasi-electrostatic approximation in which the medium is assumed to be perfectly elastic is used since long and it is useful in analyzing high quality (Q) resonators like quartz crystal. Three-dimensional (3-D) equations of linear piezoelectricity with quasi-electrostatic approximation were studied to investigate effects of dissipation on propagation of plane waves in an infinite solid.
