Ionic and electronic processes in quartz: Mechanisms of thermoluminescence and optically stimulated luminescence

Abstract: A study was conducted to examine the involvement of defect pairs produced by ionizing radiation in thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) of quartz. The result indicates that energy for the two TL peaks and the OSL is stored in the same defect pairs.
