The action of ARGONAUTE1 in the miRNA pathway and its regulation by the miRNA pathway are crucial for plant development

Abstract: Arabidopsis ago1 mutants exhibit a range of developmental defects and have also increased accumulation of mRNAs targeted by microRNAs(miRNAs). Results reveal that decreasing the complementarity of ARGONAUTE1 (AGO1) mRNA with miR168 increases the level of AGO1 mRNA and has drastic consequences on plant development and reproduction.
