Abstract
- The lightning activity over southern Africa and South America produces large amounts of reactive nitrogen oxides in the atmosphere that are later involved in ozone formation in the lower part of the atmosphere. The ozone concentrations over equatorial Africa and the southern hemisphere of the tropical Atlantic are studied.
