Abstract
- The article explores the influence of reading circles on women's cultural and critical thinking development, focusing on Margaret Fuller's 'conversations,' a series of meetings in which women discussed a range of intellectual topics. These meetings in turn enabled women to participate more fully in society and foment civic mores and public opinion.
