Mechanistic and kinetic study of the ATP-dependent DNA ligase of Neisseria meningitidis

Abstract: The structural gene of the putative ATP-dependent DNA ligase of Neisseria meningitidis is expressed after cloning. Protein is purified and its substrate specificity and kinetic properties are investigated. The results highlight the similarities and differences between ADL and both NAD(super +) -dependent bacterial DNA ligases and various ATP-dependent DNA ligases.
