Abstract
- CdSe quantum dots (QDs) are used to sensitize either a photodynamic therapy (PDT) agent via FRET (fluorescence resonance energy transfer) mechanism or molecular oxygen through a TET (triplet energy transfer) mechanism is demonstrated. Both processes are useful in the development of a novel class of PDT sensitizers with optical properties tuned to treat both shallow and deep-seated tumors.
