Abstract

Continuing its war on terrorism, the US has re-entered Southeast Asia where media reports allege Osama bin LadenEs network is deeply embedded. But the US seems misinformed and clumsy as it gets more and more involved in domestic politics and long-standing local disputes that pose little international threat. Instances are presented of building tensions in areas where the US has applied pressure on the government to apprehend terrorists.
