Transport activities raise a certain number of important issues which can be identified through the major preoccupations of transport researchers in the field of social sciences. Thus traditional research themes such as the relationship between transport and spatial development occur again and again at the rate of technological and economic progress, as much in the developing countries as they do in industrial nations.
