Abstract
- Pregnant women who have excessive amounts of human chorionic gonadotropin in their blood are more likely to have an adverse pregnancy outcome such as miscarriage, low birth weight babies, premature birth, fetal growth restriction, and hypertension. This was the conclusion of a study of 3,870 pregnant women. Pregnant women with high blood levels of human chorionic gonadotropin should receive extensive prenatal care.
