Abstract
- Research has been conducted on phototrophic purple bacteria from the permanently frozen Antarctic Lake Fryxell. The authors have investigated the biodiversity, ecology and metabolic activity of these phototrophs, and report that this lake is inhibited by a broad diversity of purple nonsulfur bacteria.
