Abstract

This article discusses genome comparison and functional reconstructions of the genomes from draft genome sequences as exemplified by the phytopathogenic Xylella fastidiosa species. Results indicate that draft sequence approach enables to idetify several phage-related genes, which may be involved in host-specific functions and help devise biological control measures.
