Microorganisms and cancer: quest for a therapy

This article examines the mechanism of action of the bacteria for their ability to cause tumor regression. Research suggests that they may activate the immune system leading to cancer mitigation. However, an alternative hypothesis indicates that it may be the inhibition of angiogenesis or production of redox proteins which cause tumor regression instead.
