Hunger strike in the world's platinoid capital

A 16-day hunger strike has been held by 57 full-time labour union officials at Norilsk Mining, mining company, in Norilsk, Russia. The strikers demanded that the company share its profits with workers, index wages at 14% and not 6%, disclose information about its financial status, and provide workers with extra vacation days as compensation for working in health-threatening or hazardous conditions. The company failed to meet any of their demands.
