Metal-dependent ferro- versus antiferromagnetic interactions in molecular crystals of square planar {M(II) imino-nitroxide radical} complexes (M=Pt, Pd)

Research describes synthesis and coordination chemistry of the imino nitroxide raical bearing ligand in combination with platinum(II) and palladium(II) metal ions. Results indicate that while the platinum derivative exhibits ferromagnetic intermolecular interactions, the palladium derivative shows an overall antiferromagnetic behavior.
