La “magazinización” de La Nación a comienzos del siglo XX : Nota para una historia de los diarios argentinos

In this work I focus on presenting the term "magazinization" to account for the process of imitation of the Caras y Caretas format that newspapers carried out at the beginning of the 20th century. The appearance of this illustrated magazine in 1898 was a crucial moment in the history of the Argentine periodical press, and due to its success, newspapers had to rethink themselves in order to compete with it, within the framework of visual culture. Here we will analyze some sporadic attempts at “magazinization” carried out by La Nación during 1901, especially the incorporation of graphic news and illustrated literature.
