Abstract

Estanislao Sacristán y Mateu was a merchant, owner of the famous drugstore of La Luna in the square of the Market of Valencia. Adhered to the progressive liberalism, provincial representative and councillor of the Valencia City Hall, would be a buyer of an enormous quantity of books from the Desamortización. His son, Estanislao Sacristán y Ferrer, become landowner, would be dedicated to the commerce of the old book as well as to hoard a notable collection of books, paintings and antiquities, that would be scattered after his death.
