- Despite the tremendous progress made during the last few years in understanding the pathogenesis, epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of Clostridium difficile-associated intestinal disease, many extremely important and fundamental questions remain to be answered. The objectives of this book are to summarize the available information regarding Clostridium difficile and its role in intestinal disease and to serve as a basis for future investigations in this challenging area.Clostridium difficile: its role in Intestinal Disease.
