Teorie Lexikální Sémantiky

Geeraerts'book offers a comprehensive overview of the major traditions of linguistic research on the meanings of words from the mid-19th century though the present day. It presents the main ideas, the landmark publications, and the dominant figures of five traditions: historical‐philological semantics, structuralist semantics, generativist semantics, neo-structuralist semantics, and cognitive semantics. In addition to the main theoretical currents of lexical semantics, it also covers also the undercurrents that have shaped its evolution. The text was translated into Czech by Aleš Klégr.
