- GIDEON Guide to Medically Important Bacteria summarizes the status of 1,678 bacterial taxa identified in clinical material. It is one in a series of GIDEON ebooks which explore all individual infectious diseases, drugs, vaccines and pathogens in every country of the world. Data are based on the GIDEON web application (www.gideononline.com) which relies on standard textbooks and peer-review journals, supplemented by an ongoing search of the medical literature. All known species of bacteria and mycobacteria are included in the book.
