The Rolls Series (officially The Chronicles and Memorials of Great Britain and Ireland during the Middle Ages), provides one of the key resources for British and Irish medievalists. Published in the second half of the nineteenth century, the series consists of a total of 255 volumes and 99 separate works. In all, the series contains almost all the great medieval English chronicles in editions which often remain the standard works in print.
