Abstract
- Isolated cysticercosis of the sternocleidomastoid is a rare entity caused by the ingestion of eggs of Taenia solium. The case reported here is of a 24-year-old male who presented to the hospital with complaints of a firm, non-tender, isolated, progressively increasing swelling of the right side of his neck for 3 months. Diagnosis of cysticercosis was made on high-resolution ultrasound and the patient was managed medically with complete resolution. The relevant findings of the case are discussed herein.
