Abstract

The use of items with a matrix format is common in the evaluation tests of higher mental abilities and general cognitive ability (g), with the Raven Progressive Matrices Test being the most widely used and recognized test in the area. However, there are some important drawbacks that may restrict the use of this test today (eg, its items are widely disseminated and are easily accessible through the Internet, the scales in some countries are clearly outdated, the application is long ...). The MATRICES General Intelligence Test has been developed with the aim of providing a more efficient measure of the general cognitive capacity (g) using non-verbal items with this format.
