Abstract
- The article deals with the usage of the construction ne ja/ty li + a noun or an adjective in the Russian texts. It is used for the expression of polar addresser’s emotions (discontent, disappointment, joy, admiration). A rhetorical question that has a characterization of an addressee (you are an X, aren’t you?) or an addresser (I am an X, aren’t me?) dictates to a listener the certain understanding of specific of his communicative relations with the addresser. The addressee is deprived of any rights to describe an addresser by himself; an addressee has to agree with arguments or argue against them basing not on the addresser's point of view but as a result of pressing of addresser on him.
