Abstract: The deformation mechanisms of twin boundaries in nanotwinned metallic materials are still unclear. Here the authors combine in situ transmission electron microscopy tensile tests and molecular dynamics simulations with a dislocation-based theoretical model to reveal the deformation mechanism of nanotwins.
