El concepto de Rectángulo Equivalente para la caracterización de la forma de una cuenca

In this work the importance of the teaching of geometry as a modeler of the space in which people are immersed is rescued. For this, is showed the resolution of a problem related to a certain types of disciplines such as cartography, geography, and hydrology, through of the characterization of the shape of a river basin. The concept of an equivalent rectangle is used at this point. Two variables associated with morphometry are presented: the area and the perimeter which also allow describing the shape of a basin and the effects associated with it. At the same time, the work also includes the development of quadratic functions for its resolution
