Scientific consciousness: an important dimension in ship innovation

Innovation features huge uncertainties and risks. According to statistics, less than one percent of discoveries and inventions convert successfully into innovations and real applications. The key element in converting innovative ideas into applications is the scientific consciousness of the innovators, which is very important for such open, complex and large-scale system engineering as naval architecture.
